Good Morning Sleepy-Doo Grapefruit Smoothie

This is my first blog post ever in the entire history of the universe.  With that said, let’s get right into this…

I am not a big fan of taking any type of supplements or medicines, so as a vegetarian, I like to think of smoothies as semi-multivitamin ((I am not a doctor or saying that as a fact)).  Just a personal feeling.

Soooo having an almost two-year-old child, a boy, in fact, with tons and tons and tons…… and tons of energy, I most of the time find myself considerably tired in the morning or throughout the day ((although this may be a result of the fact that I need a new pillow)).  No one is pleasant when they are tired and rundown, so I will share what I drink almost every morning or midday to keep me on my toes.

This Good Morning Sleepy-Doo Grapefruit Smoothie has a tropically delicious taste to it, not to mention that its ingredients pretty much do it all. Grapefruit is know to boost your metabolism and help burn fat, pump up your immune system with Vitamin C ((we are in this crazy flu/virus season)), provide your body with antioxidants, and possibly have anti-aging properties, yes!  Along with the other ingredients, this crazy delicious smoothie will also help boost energy and keep you full until lunchtime while you are busy running around after the kids, running errands, at work, in meetings, doing whatever it is you do when those hunger pangs and fatigue usually hit.


Plus it’s beautiful.  I’m not going to go through every single vitamin in this, but just check out the ingredients and the wide range of colors, and you’ll have a good idea. But most of all, enjoy the delicious creamy flavor!!!

Serving Size: 1 large or 2 regular glasses ((I usually have a big glass and a small cup for my son))

Ingredients:1 large fresh squeezed grapefruit
1 medium banana
1 handful blueberries
4-5 strawberries ((depending on the size))
<1/8 of a pineapple or ~1 cup fresh pineapple

Juice the grapefruit, cut stems off the strawberries, be sure everything is thoroughly washed.  Put it all in the blender and blend until smooth… like a smoothie. Mmmmmm drink up and enjoy the rest of your day!

I could also suggest if you toss a small bunch of kale in there ((about two stems of Italian Dino kale)) you won’t even taste it, and it will give you that much more vitamins and energy.
